Just Messing Around – Shoot First Productions

Simple improvised film, rough premise conjured up beforehand. Played out a number of ways on location (which was considerably smaller than expected). The total work involved totalled two hours, one to roughly plan and arrive and then an hour to shoot, experimenting with how we could shoot and play out the idea.

The Guerrilla Film Maker

Guerrilla Film Making exists because people want to make their films; they want their movies to exist. The problem is that the actual finished product, as in the professional business side of film, is tremendously expensive. When publicity sites and press junkets talk about the budget of a mainstream production, they’re not far off the actual figures.

Movies cost millions, and your average Joe doesn’t have that. So, he makes it guerrilla style… On the cheap.

Most indie film makers and guerilla film makers rely upon one thing – favours. Borrowing equipment, locations and volunteer actors are all part of the deal, so relationships definitely count.

Conceited and ignorant people rarely manage to get a film made guerrilla style, because you do have to be reliant and exceptionally regarded.

With that said, this E-Book talks about a variety of options with regards to your equipment, what you may be able to obtain and a brief overview of how to use them.

If you’re interested in being involved in a local production (guerilla style), i.e. volunteering, please join our forums at http://forums.shootfirst.ca/ and post up your offering.
